Fred Salle - Biography

For fifteen years Fred competed for England and Great Britain at the highest level in the world of athletics as a Long Jumper, accumulating over 30 international representations.

This included competing at the European, Commonwealth and World Championships, in addition to representing Cameroon at the 1988 Olympic Games (Seoul Korea).

His greatest achievements were winning the World Cup for Great Britain in 1994, securing a silver medal for England at the Commonwealth Games in 1986, and captaining an England team in 1995.

During and subsequent to the above, he built an impressive IT career, working with companies such as RBS, HSBC, Reuters, AOL, Citibank, Microsoft, State Street Bank and Trade Indemnity, whilst maintaining the discipline, desire and motivation to compete at the highest levels of sport, which he was particularly admired for.

Fred was born on September 10th 1964 in Freetown Sierra Leone (his family emigrated to England in 1970). He was educated at the follwing schools: Mount Carmel (Liverpool), Bishops Court (Formby - Liverpool), Quinton Kynaston (St Johns Wood - London) and St Mary's C of E school (Hendon - London).

He went on to read Biology at Boston University (Boston - USA) on a full sports scholarship in 1983 having been recommended by his hero and former Great Britain Olympic Champion, David Hemery.

Following his graduaton from Boston University in 1988 Fred competed in the Olympics (Seoul) that year, and then worked in the Financial Services sector for 5 years (3 years as Sales Consultant and 2 years as a Development Manager).

He then embarked on career change, and enrolled on a Masters in Applied Computing Technology course at Middlesex University - North London (1993), which he completed in 1994, the same year in which he won the World Cup for Great Bitain.

Fred is one of those unique individuals who has achieved both individually and as part of a team, and understands the dynamics of getting the best out of your self in sports, business and life.

By sharing his close understanding of the importance of goal setting and motivation with his personal experiences both on and off the track, he has consistently inspired, motivated and helped others achieve their own personal, business and life goals.
